About Handcarts in the Valley Bookstore

Thanks for your interest in Handcarts in the Valley Bookstore! We've always wanted to open a bookstore like this, and we hope you like what you see. Handcarts in the Valley bookstore is owned and operated by Eric and Vicki Burtcher. We have been married since 1993 and have 6 beautiful children. Vicki has family history roots here in Heber City, Utah. Her Great Great Grandfather traveled with the Mormon Pioneers in the Martin Handcart Company in 1856 and was among the first settlers of this valley. We chose the name in honor of him and the many Pioneers who sacrificed so much to answer the call to gather in Zion. The Heber Valley is rich with Pioneer history, and we feel blessed to be a part of it. When we moved in to the valley several years ago, we discovered an area in need of a store that carried both LDS books and products as well as family friendly books and entertainment. We asked around and found that this was something others wanted as well. To quote a favorite movie, "See a Need, Fill a Need!" (from the movie "Robots"). So, with the help and support of family and friends, we opened our bookstore in February 2010. We find great satisfaction in helping you find what you need, whatever that need may be. You'll find everything from LDS doctrinal books to the latest best sellers in young adult fiction. Puzzles, journals, jewelry, candy, family games, CDs, DVDs, artwork, ties, sunday bags, and much more! We have access to over 3 million titles, so if we don't have it, there's a good chance we can order it! Thank you for all your support!
